I was born and raised in Northern California in a small town called Novato, CA. I started out working at the Vehicle Donation Center in High School. While there I developed the position of Auction Coordinator, what I now know is the remarketing manager! Although we were not a typical remarketing company, we consigned thousands of cars to auctions around the country and needed a presence at those sales. The company grew rapidly and eventually relocated to Southern California. Myself and five of my closest friends moved down as well to continue working for the company.

While working there I pursued a degree in Sociology. Ultimately, my plan was to become a college professor. However, after finishing my master’s degree, I realized that I would never leave the car industry, so I continued working for the Vehicle Donation Center.

As the Great Recession approached, things at my company began to change as well, and they eliminated the travel part of my position. So, in March of 2009, my general manager, Michael Irwin, and myself quit the Vehicle Donation Center and set off to start our own company processing car donations.

Although I never expected to be an entrepreneur, and it has been difficult at times, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. My business partner has officially retired, making me the sole owner of Kars-R-Us.
