Johan Verbois is the founder and CEO of 5S Consulting, an international consulting company focused on improving performance in used vehicle operation, remarketing, and residual value management. In his most recent venture in March 2023, Johan co-founded MA5, a used vehicle consulting group that pools the talents of its four founders, all internationally renowned remarketing experts, strengthened with associated partners.  

Johan brings passion and expertise to his customers and offers forward-thinking advice and strategic solutions with a focus on three key and interrelated areas, which present specific challenges to the remarketing industry today:

• The customer journey, including the 'phygital' format and e-commerce channels;

• The powertrain transition, encompassing how to value, handle, and sell used EVs;

• The changing distribution models, such as the agency model and its consequences, among others. 

With over 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, Johan previously served as Director of Fleet, Remarketing & Dealer Network Development at Toyota Motor Europe. In this role, he oversaw development in 54 countries. Prior to this, Johan held various positions in Sales & Marketing with General Motors, Opel, Peugeot, and Mercedes. 

Johan is a recognized authority on used vehicle remarketing at the European and global levels. He is a regular speaker, panel member, and moderator at various events worldwide, and he serves as a board member of CARA, the European Car Remarketing Association.
